Successful Respite Day
Club President Chad Vanderslice and event chair Stacy Rubio
Started in 2010 by the Southold Club as another way to support our troops, this is a day for the children of the 106th Rescue Wing to have a fun day. And, it's a day for their parents -- who are sometimes operating as single parents when the other parent has been deployed -- to have a day to themselves while their children are entertained for the day.
This year the Westhampton Club took over the event, and wishes to thank the following clubs:
· Seatuck Club provided lunch
· Southold Club provided dinner
· Huntington Club, Riverhead Club and Southampton Clubs: $100 donation each
Staffing assistance came from Westhampton Interact students, East Moriches Boy Scout Troop 29, and a group of women donating their time in memory of their friend Ruby. Overall event management was handled by Stacy Rubio
